Tony Smith’s journey to Marco Island began in 1988 after his distinguished service with The Grenadier Guards, a renowned British Army regiment. Shortly after his arrival, he met and married his wife, Martina, whose family had deep roots in the restaurant industry. Martina’s uncle, Tom Shea, operated the iconic O’Shea’s restaurant, inspiring a legacy of hospitality that continues today.

For 32 years, Tony and Martina ran the Tigertail Beach concessions, serving locals and visitors alike. In 2020, they expanded their passion for hospitality by opening the Smith House Restaurant and Bakery, quickly followed by The Boardroom Tavern in 2021. Both establishments have become beloved spots on Marco Island, celebrated for their inviting atmosphere, exceptional food, and welcoming service.

In addition to their culinary ventures, Tony channels his creative side through his art studio, located within the same complex of Olde Marco Village. When he’s not painting, you’ll find him playing guitar with his band, Florida Straits, adding another layer to his story.

Tony and Martina are proud parents to three children and doting grandparents to three grandchildren, continuing to build their legacy on Marco Island as a family deeply invested in the community they love.
